Stripes sent us this beautiful, brand new Selena Cup. This cup is to commemorate the upcoming Fiesta De la Flor honoring the legendary Tejano singer and fellow Chingona, Selena Quintanilla Perez. They will be available on March 1st in participating Stripes locations with two designs to pick from. 

Why did Stripes send us this cup?

Thanks to you, our customers, Sew Bonita has built a following of Chingonas, Chismosas and all around bad ass women. And because of that, our good friends at Stripes shared with us this exclusive cup for our fans to see. 

Selena, A Legend

So many of us grew up with the sounds of Selena Y Los Dinos in our homes, our school dances, our bodas, and Quinceañeras. Her addictive music was everywhere. And more importantly, brown, little girls like me found her to be inspirational, fierce and I wanted to be her. She was our role model. 

There is something still mesmerizing about her music, a nostalgic feeling that I am sure many of us get. Because at the end of the day, Selena was one of us. She was relatable. She was a South Texas girl. She was Tejana. And to me, that's what makes her a Chingona. She embraced her culture, her beauty, never self-doubting, and the ultimate game changer. 

The Culture that drives Sew Bonita

Selena was an entrepreneur, innovative, and a pioneer all while shattering glass ceilings. She taught us to be proud of who we are, to never forget where we came from, and a prime example of what we strive to be at Sew Bonita.
